Here is the translation of the 1977 Zack #25 Mondbasis Alpha 1 comic, which contains an adaptation of the episode Dragon's Domain.

This issue is perhaps the strangest, and certainly the most contradictory, of all the translations that were published in the Zack comics. If a Space: 1999 fan glanced at the drawings only, it might appear as though this were a fairly faithful adaptation of the television episode - although sequentially different by first depicting the Ultra Probe mission sequence in its entirety within the first 7 pages.

However, upon reading just the first panel, it becomes obvious that a truly bizarre adaptation is about to unfold.

The differences are many, and sometimes bewildering! And include such things as:

• The adventure taking place entirely after Breakaway
• A depiction of the Space Dock - for no clear reason, as there is no flashback
• The names of the Ultra crew are from the original script - although Calder has been modified to Selder (the same name used in the Italian AMZ novel)
• Depictions of "flashback" style Koenig and Russell - for no explainable reason
• Dixon as a genetics professor living on Alpha - with a very unconventional looking lab!)
• etc.
