Translation of "The Edge of the Infinite" by Leni Sobez
Significantly, the ending of this novel is altered.
Because the publishers planned to continue the Mondstation 1999 series of books past The Edge of the Infinte with a string of original stories, the possibility of the Alphans settling on the Immunity Syndrome planet had to be eliminated.
The difference between Michael Butterworth's original ending and the Leni Sobez version can be viewed on the translation page.
Fight for the Future The impossible happens! The Alphans recieve a message from Earth! 21st Century mankind has succeeded in striking upon a matter transmitter as a bridge to the missing people. The transmitter connection permits the return to Earth, but it can only be maintained for a few hours. Commander John Koenig, Dr. Helena Russell and Alan Carter dare to step first through the transmitter. But they land on Earth of the past. It is the year 1339, and the English fight against the Scots.
